Great River Fishing Adventures did such a great job last time, we booked with them a second time and requested Landon to return as our guide. We cruised up the Harrison River targeting Chum Salmon for most of the day, and spent 2.5 hours at the end for Sturgeon. We had luck on both portions of our trip, as we caught double digits of Chum (including 5 clean ones for the Smoker) and 3 Sturgeon.

The Chum were all caught on prawn tipped Purple/Pink jigs under a float. The Sturgeon were caught with fresh Chum roe from the clean females we had just killed. The largest Sturgeon went 6’3, and the other 2 were around 4 feet.

We float fished near the shore of the Harrison River. We short floated these jigs as the fish were fairly shallow (being so close to shore). Purple & Pink jigs tipped with Prawns were the ticket! The water was fairly shallow so we had our Float-to-jig length anywhere between 2 – 4 feet.
