Trip Summary

It’s mid October 2016 and the local municipal lakes are being replenished/stocked with Rainbow trout. Rice Lake is in my backyard and it’s a beautiful place to take the family and teach kids how to fish. On this trip I caught 3 Rainbow’s in a very short period of time. You can keep 2 Rainbow trout per fisherman per day on Rice Lake. These fish are very easy to catch, so check out my setup below (and the video).

Winter Chinook Fishing from Shore

Kayaking with Pacific White-Sided Dolphins

Kayaking with Pacific White-Sided Dolphins It's October 6th, 2025 there is a full moon and the Coho are absolutely on fire! This was the best day of Coho fishing I've experienced all year and at this point in the season they are BIG! They are fattening up to head to...

Coho Limits in Mid September

Coho Limits in Mid September It's mid September and the Coho fishing continues to be epic. I had a small window of time in my schedule and the wind to get out from my local boat launch (Charlaine Ramp in Nanaimo BC). The short trip turned out to be a banger as I...
