Trip Summary

My son, nephews and in-laws went out to Garry Point Park next to Steveston village for some Pikeminnow fishing. This was our first fishing expedition here and it was a success! We went out 3 hours after high tide which is not ideal as it’s usually best fishing between 2 hours before high tide until 2 hours after high tide. However, we were successful chucking small spoons and spinners.

After the fishing, mom/dad treated all of us to lunch in Steveston village (a 10 minute walk away). After lunch we checked out the Fisherman’s wharf to see all the boats fresh fish. This is a great place to purchase fresh seafood of all sorts and it’s also a great place to buy roe for bait (to procure). What a great day it was with the family, I can see myself returning back to this spot for another trip soon!

Winter Chinook Fishing from Shore
